33 Norwegian companies have received the Merket for God Design
from the Norwegian Design Council because of John R. Houghton's
design contributions to their product development.
The Norwegian Design Prize has been awarded to two of these
companies: Tandberg Educational for the Tandberg Language
Laboratory in 1986, and Simrad Subsea for the Bridge Line
product corporate identity in 1990.
At the Hannovermessen in 1979 the Ring Master Tridex was awarded
a design prize and Norsk Computer Industri (NCI) received
the 'Gute Industrie Form' prize in 1989 and 1990.
The Wing Pan produced by Hackman won the following prizes:

CorrOcean AS received a Millennium Product award, UK, 1999/2000
The Kunstindustrimuseet in Oslo, Norway exhibits two AND designed
products on permanent display.
Other products designed by AND have been exhibited at Maihaugen,
Lillehammer, Norway. The Henie-Onstad Kunstsenter, HØvik,
Norway, Norsk Form, Oslo, Norway. The Pompidou Centre, Paris,
France. Design Museum and The Millennium Dome, London, UK.
During 1998 and 1999 John R Houghton was a principle jury
member for Merket for God Design, Klassikerprisen and Unge
Talenter,prizes awarded by the Norwegian Design Council (Norsk
Designråd).
